NISSAN’S new high performance Juke Nismo model will cost from £19,995 when it arrives during March.
The order book actually opens next month for the stylish crossover, which has been developed by the company’s performance division in Japan and will be the first Nismo-badged road car for the European market.
Nismo – the name is derived from Nissan Motorsports International – has long been a respected performer on world racetracks.
And its newcomer, the first in a new range of Nismo-tuned models, will feature an uprated version of Nissan’s 1.6-litre direct injection turbocharged petrol engine producing 200PS.
In front-wheel drive, six-speed manual form, the car will be capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 134mph.
Combined fuel economy of 40.9mpg and 159g/km CO2 emissions are the same as the Juke DIG-T on which it is based, despite its extra power.
There’s also an uprated chassis and suspension with 10 percent stiffer springs plus an aerodynamic body kit with lower front and rear bumpers, wider wings and sill side skirts along with a modified grille and tailgate spoiler.
Suede-trimmed Nismo sports seats with red stitching and deep side bolsters jazz up the cabin, along with Alcantara and leather trim for the steering wheel and suede trim for the door liners.
Other changes include a black centre console, black door switch surrounds and a black headliner while red Nismo signatures are also carried through to the dashboard gauges, gearknob and gaiter.
Three colours - Storm White, Pearl Black and Blade Silver – will be available and as well as two-wheel drive six-speed manual transmission, the Nismo can also be specified with four-wheel drive and a CVT automatic gearbox.
